Services
For the main SNAP Services the children/young people are divided into groups:
• Juniors (age 5-10 approximately)
• Intermediates (age 11-14 approximately)
• Seniors (age 15-19 approximately)
• Youth Club (age 18 – 25)
After School Clubs
• Operate 5 days per week during school term time.
• Based in Drummond School, Inverness.
• Times are from 3.15pm – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
• Children who attend schools other than Drummond are transported in taxis or by parents (this is the responsibility of the parent to sort out with transport services). At 5.30pm, parents of children who live out with the Inverness city area pick up their child or arrange alternative transport. All other children are transported home in SNAPPIE (minibus) – it may be anytime from 5.30pm until 7pm depending on the number of children and the areas they travel home to.
• Up to 12 children per day (most children come one day per week).
• Activities are mainly hall based including art and craft, sports, imaginary and team games, workshops, music, and computers but may include a visit to the park or a beach in good weather. Parents will be informed of planned outings.
• Parents are informed regularly on dates/closures due to In-Service Days and holidays.
Holiday Leisure Schemes
These are held 6 days per week, Monday to Saturday during the Easter, Summer and October school holidays. This year there was a a pilot project Christmas / New year scheme for two days per week.
Ten to fourteen children attend the leisure schemes each day, which run from 10:30 to 3:30.
Each of the three age groups have two days allocated to them.
Out and about in the community
These are fortnightly Saturday outings / activities.
Family Events
These are normally held once per term. There are varied venues and activities and some of the events are combined with fundraising.
Youth Club
This is held 1 evening per week, but is currently in abeyance.
